Carved, decorative and welcoming, our house is ideal for hosting butterflies in your garden. Equipped with a solid hook, it can be hung on the walls of your home or among the trees of your garden.
What are butterflies for? Beautiful butterflies are essential for the pollination and natural disinfestation of flowers and orchards. Our house is for them.
Where to install the house? The butterfly house can be installed anywhere: in your garden, on the balcony or wherever you can.The ideal place is obviously close to flowers and plants that offer nectar and pollen. You can hang it on the wall of a house or a garage, a fence, a pole, or the trunk of a tree.
What is it for? The butterfly houses offer protection from the wind and the elements. The house must be placed in the garden and, when the night goes down, the butterflies will seek shelter inside. If there are nectar-rich plants nearby, the butterflies will be more likely to enter the house. Inside you can insert long twigs so as to attract them and offer a nice place for their rest.

How it is made? The butterfly house is made with carefully crafted Douglas marine plywood. The carving decorations are made with a precision pantograph. During assembly, all parts are smoothed by hand and glued with odorless glue; the used nails are anti-rust. The surfaces are then passed to the brush with a non-toxic and hypoallergenic transparent paint. Before being sent, the house is branded in focus with the “Blitzen Original” logo.

Yes, our paints, our colors and our materials are all non-toxic and hypoallergenic.

Andrea and Chiara are set designers. They have worked for the most important theaters of Italy and some of the most important amusement parks of Europe.
When they come back home from their workshop, there are their cats and dogs waiting for them. It is for them that the first Blitzen houses were born.
And then? Well, there are two family friends: Nicola and Alberto, brothers. Nicola works wood and manages logistics. Alberto takes care of the communication. They live with Mirta, a completely black Lessinia sheepdog.
Our atelier is in an old cabinetmaker’s shop of the early 1900s’, in the beautiful hills of Lake Garda. Between our paintings and statues, we give shape and color to the Blitzen cat&dog-houses.
